OMG they said it couldn’t happen - but it did! I must make an announcement. I am very pleased to say I have started my first ever full time job. My new roll as Head of Content at the amazing design company ustwo™ will see me continuing to make incredible artwork but with added power to create stronger, faster, better projects!

This is beginning to sound like a soap commercial.

I’m going to be overseeing the studio’s work as it pushes its animated and live action content whilst working with a permanent team of really talented team of designers and animators.

This may mean that I might end up posting more work here on this site as i have always been a little reticent to plaster too much stuff here as I was always painfully aware it acts as shop window for clients. Look out for more personal projects here in the furture along with regular updates on the work I’ll be doing here at ustwo™.

Hi! As you may or not know I spent some time two years ago putting together a proposal for an animated kids TV series. It’s called ‘Pups And BIG’ and is about a little puppy dude called Pups who befriends a giant flea called BIG. You can read all about the series at the dedicated blog HERE.

Anyway I was desperate to get in some animation practice last week so I out this run cycle of BIG down and added some handmade sound effects. I now present to you the first moving images of BIG for your delight…

Hello! It’s been a while but I’ve been busy as a bee behind so many scenes its untrue.

I’m taking a time out to let everyone know that ‘Mouth-Off ‘, a brilliant and hilarious app for the iphone has gone live on iTunes.

Its a series of voice-reactive animated mouths (that I’ve illustrated of course) which you use by simply holding the iPhone in front of your face and talking or singing or howling like a wolf etc. The mouth animates along with you, opening louder the higher the volume.

The diesel viral ended up getting around 9.2 Million views. I like to freak myself out by imagining all these views happening at once, in one place. Imagine absolutely everyone in London all at once. Now stop and make sure you’re including everyone. It blows my mind.

I recently produced an animation called Goalstar for myself! Well I want to sell it for MILLIONS so I made it about football, which I’m not mad on but everyone else in the world is. Anyway this is episode one and I’ve written about 12, each one becoming increasingly wild and of course cra-zee! Please take a LOOK.

I recently directed the animation on a viral project to promote Diesel jeans’ 30th birthday. The piece entitled ‘Safe For Work’ was directed by Keith Schofield with myself and three animators here at my studio Biganimal working for an intense 10 day period to disguise 90 seconds of hardcore porn and make it safe-for-work!!

I drew almost all the assets, with each element drawn 5 times, a technique called ‘boiling’, which gives the animated elements more energy and life. You can see the whole animation HERE.

Whilst browsing my old hard drives I discovered this picture which was created for an Italian Magazine (IT). It has never been published on the web or in the press outside of Italy so I thought it really should get an airing now. I had forgotten all about it but really love the image.
