Hi! As you may or not know I spent some time two years ago putting together a proposal for an animated kids TV series. It’s called ‘Pups And BIG’ and is about a little puppy dude called Pups who befriends a giant flea called BIG. You can read all about the series at the dedicated blog HERE.

Anyway I was desperate to get in some animation practice last week so I out this run cycle of BIG down and added some handmade sound effects. I now present to you the first moving images of BIG for your delight…

The first three months of the year saw me working on a major project for Sony Ericsson Japan and their W52S phone. I designed and animated 12 characters which appear in the phone menu instead of the standard icons and also appear in a cool music vizualiser mode that the Walkman phone also has. The menu is dynamic so that every time you navigate to it at least one of the characters has changed their appearance. They also change outfits on public holidays as the phone menu is linked to the calender.

The 30th anniversary of Star Wars was celebrated recently and I was asked to contribute to the Vader Project. Contemporary artists were asked to do whatever they wanted to a full size and beautifully made Vader helmet. I of course implemented the unmistakable DARTH HAIR with unbelievable assistance from international fashion hair genius Peter Grey who covered the helmet in an unimaginable amount of pure white hair. Justin Timberlake recently launched his fashion label William Rast in the UK at Harvey Nichols in Knightsbridge London. Justin invited myself and my very good friend Mr. Pinks to redecoratethe top floor bar for the event. Here you can see how it went down.

With talk in the air of a follow up book I thought it best to post a look at the original We Are Animals book created by myself and James Gibson. The book is in both English and Japanese and is aimed at young bi-linguists and children of all ages interested in cute animals drawn by me. The initial run is now sold-out but I’ll post any news of book 2 as it happens.

The Bigchill House in Kings Cross London has just celebrated its first birthday. I was asked to design the upstairs bar-room in the house for its opening. This gallery offers just a few pictures of how it looks. I didn’t design that lilly pond, just for the record…
